Announcement – Polling Changes and Small Break

Fellow Bereans,

Thank you for sending me your many song requests!  Although the new polling format allows for more songs to be processed, It’s also put a strain on me to process new song requests, remember which song goes in which version of polling, and indicate whether we’re on first or second round.  On top of that, I have comments that I’m trying to review/address, the actual reviews to complete, and personal issues that are taking time away from maintaining this website.

Thus, I am making several changes:

1. Starting January 2025, I am reverting polling back to the previous system.  Eight songs go in.  Three can be voted on simutaneously.  Two are added to the schedule.  Two polls per month.  Two extra songs to fill the other weeks.
2. Extra songs for September 2024 will be replaced with two artist submissions.
3. I am taking most of November and December off to take a break from reviews.  That means no Christmas submissions for this year.  However, I’ll still do a review for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and another one at the end of the year.
4. I’m spreading out the songs that would ordinarily go into October so that you’ll get one review each week in October and November and fill other weeks with extra songs.  Thus, one round 2 poll will be for October and the other for November.
5. The polling queue will reopen for a short time starting on or around September 15th to cover for October/November under the current system and to fill eight songs to begin polling for January 2025 under the previous system.  After that, it will go dorment until mid to late December.
