3. How would an outsider interpret the song?
JPCC Worship uses everyday language to describe many of God’s properties listed in section 1. Combined with the word “Jesus”, this helps unbelievers to conclude Christianity. While I applaud JPCC Worship for describing God’s power to break chains, some might conclude that because God can break all chains that He will break theirs, leading them to walk away when He doesn’t. It might be helpful to include something like “Even if He doesn’t, I will still worship Him”.
Score: 9/10
4. What does this song glorify?
It glorifies God by describing His attributes, including His might, justice, eternity, and lovingkindness.
Score: 10/10
Closing Comments
JPCC Worship’s More Than Enough is more than adequate. It proclaims God’s goodness, love, justice, and eternality. We respond by accepting His grace and surrender to His will, glorifying Him. Unbelievers should be able to follow along, though perhaps misunderstanding God’s power to end tragedy with His will to do so.
I recommend this song for corporate worship. Seeker-sensitive churches may consider an explanation to “Jesus, You’re able, to break every chain” before worshipping with this song.
Final Score: 9.5/10
