The entire thing.

Lyrics posted with permission.*

[Verse 1]

When I’m at my end, tears pouring down
And I can’t see past what’s in front of me now
When it’s all too much for this heart to take
There’s one name I call, one prayer that I pray

Unspoken is in trouble and can’t think straight.  What name will they call?  Let’s find out.

[Chorus]

God help me now
Feels like there’s no way out
But Jesus, You’re faithful and able
And You’ve never once let me down

Unspoken calls upon the name of Jesus for aid.  For he is faithful (Numbers 23:19, Deuteronomy 7:9, Psalm 33:4, Psalm 91:4, Psalms 119:90, Lamentations 3:22-23, 1 Corinthians 1:9, 1 Corinthians 10:13, 2 Thessalonians 3:3, 2 Timothy 2:13, Hebrews 10:23, 2 Peter 3:9, and 1 John 1:9).

God help me now

Repeats line 1.

[Verse 2]

No matter the pain my heart may feel
No wound cuts too deep for Your love to heal

While Unspoken was a sinner, Christ died for them (Romans 5:8).

So when fear comes to find me and doubts start to grow
I lift up my eyes, I know just where to go

That is, to Christ.

[Bridge]

No one else (No one else)
No one else (No one else)
Has the power that’s in Your name
Nowhere else (Nowhere else)
Nowhere else (Nowhere else)
Can I run to and be saved

For there is no other name in heaven by which Unspoken can be saved (Acts 4:12).

Score: 10/10

3. How would an outsider interpret the song?

Unbelievers will come to the same conclusion as I.  The word “Jesus” makes it clear that this song is Christian.  Unspoken’s language is plain English.

Score: 10/10

4. What does this song glorify?

Jesus, the One who can help Unspoken where nobody else can.

Score: 10/10

Closing Comments

Unspoken’s God Help Me is a garden variety song.  Jesus liberated him from his past sins.  This brings Christ glory.  Unbelievers should interpret this song similarly.

This song is suitable for corporate worship.

Final Score: 10/10
